Ø16 mm ID Expansion Clamp
The Ø16 mm ID Expansion Clamp is a compact internal clamping solution designed for accurately locating and securely holding components using existing internal hole features.
Simply place the component over the expansion clamp and tighten the standard M6 hardware. As the screw is tightened, the flexure design expands outward, applying controlled clamping force against the internal walls of the component feature. This allows parts to be located and clamped from the inside, keeping the outside profile clear for machining.
Manufactured from EN24T high carbon steel, the clamp is designed for strength, rigidity, and long service life in production fixture environments.
The flexure design also produces a slight pull-down effect, helping to seat the component against the fixture face while expanding into the bore. This improves stability and repeatability, particularly for OP2 machining and low-profile fixture setups.
The clamp has a working clamp range of 15.9 mm to 17.5 mm, making it suitable for components with internal hole features around Ø16 mm.
For use with aluminium fixture plates, each clamp locates into a 20 mm H7 mounting bore. With a recommended bore depth of 12 mm, the clamp provides a 10 mm clamping height above the fixture plate. To clamp lower down inside a component, simply increase the mounting bore depth to suit the required clamping height.
The clamp is secured to the fixture plate using 3 × M4 standard cap head screws, giving a rigid and repeatable mounting method for production fixtures, pallet systems, and custom machining setups.

Typical Applications
Ø16 mm ID Expansion Clamps are ideal for holding components where external clamping would obstruct machining access. They are suited to setups where parts can be located from a bore, counterbore, pocket, or other internal feature.
They are especially useful for compact fixtures, multi-part fixture plates, soft-jaw alternatives, OP2 machining, and repeat production work where fast loading, clear tool access, and repeatable positioning are required.
