After months of testing the FirmVice is finally ready for pre order. The FirmVice is an innovative new workholding solution, made for machinists, by machinists. The FirmVice base is 130mm wide, 39mm thick with a length of 150mm. The maximum clamping range is 150mm with the standard stepped jaws in reverse mode.(Zero Point studs optional extra) The FirmVice features a unique V way design instead of the typical t slots for location and movement of the jaws.This design has a greater surface area in contact between the sliding parts, and the angled portion of the ways provides greater resistance to jaw lift often seen on other vices.  All components are case hardened to 60 rockwell using a gas nitriding process. Featuring a 2 part jaw design hard and soft jaws can be used to secure any shape workpiece. Standard jaws feature a 3mm deep step with gripper serations to bite into the material. Used in conjunction with the FirmPoint zero point bases extremely fast set up change over times can be achieved. The FirmVice also features mounting holes suitable for M12 or 1/2" cap head bolts and slots for clamps for traditional mounting.  Excellent for 3 axis set ups, but also perfect for 5 axis machining scenarios, the angled faces give better access than traditional self centre vices.
